What is reflexology?
The art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China.
The therapy was introduced to the west in the early 1900s, when Dr. William Fitzgerald developed 'zone therapy'. He belived that reflex areas on the hands and feet were linked to corresponding areas and organs of the body within the same zone.
In the 1930s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what we now recognise as modern Reflexology.
Put simply, Reflexology is a deep healing foot treatment that's really so much more than just a massage.
It has many benefits which could include:
- Promoting relaxation.
- Improved circulation of blood, nutrients and nerve signals.
- Improved Health. Boost the immune system.
- Release of Endorphins. A chemical which helps to reduce pain and stress.
Reflexology cannot diagnose or claim to cure medical conditions.
How often should I get Reflexology?
How often you attend Reflexology depends entirely on what you want to achieve through your treatment. If you have a specific issues, weekly sessions for 4-6 weeks is best. Thereafter, monthly sessions as and when you feel the need.
Many people use Reflexology to help them relax and unwind, and have a bit of time out for themselves. In this case, monthly treatment will propbably be enough but you should book an appointment as and when you feel your body needs it.
Reflexology Treatment
Is a therapeutic foot practice built on the idea that various points on the feet are linked to different organs and systems throughout the body. By applying focused pressure to these areas, reflexology can encourage the body’s natural healing abilities, support healthier circulation, ease stress and enhance overall wellbeing.
It’s a great option for anyone interested in a holistic, non-invasive approach to maintaining health.
